In a world filled with so many distractions, Staying focused can be challenging. That’s what sparked the idea for Mind Memo.
Picture this: you've got handy features like timers, customizable task templates, and app locks to keep distractions at bay. You can also listen to your favorite focus music while working or even add your tunes. But here's the cool part – you're not alone! You can collaborate with others to share tasks and monitor each member's completion percentages. It's a game-changer for getting things done!
Problem statement
Many people find it hard to stay focused because there are always distractions in our modern, connected world. Finding practical solutions to help individuals stay focused is crucial for better performance and sustaining overall mental productivity.

For the competitive analysis, two well-known time and task management apps were selected: Trello and Todoist.
Assessing Strengths
Trello stands out with its visual organization and strong team collaboration features, making it great for various teams.
Todoist provides a simpler, minimalist approach that's perfect for individual users or smaller teams aiming for productivity.

Primary research was conducted by designing a survey to identify suitable interview candidates. Insights gathered from the interviews were then used to create an affinity map, uncovering common themes and patterns.

With more people working remotely, I'm making sure my platform is ready to go wherever users are. Seamless communication and project management are key, no matter where they're working from.
Staying in the Zone:
Distractions can derail productivity, so I'm building features that help users stay focused. Whether it's blocking social media during work hours or providing gentle reminders, I'm all about helping them stay on track.
Time on Their Side:
Time is precious, and I want to help users make the most of it. Whether it's setting a timer or planning out their day, I'm all about giving them the tools they need to stay organized and focused.
Design
The design process began by empathizing with the users, stepping into their shoes, and crafting user stories to capture their needs and experiences.
MVP Decision
All elements from the user stories were included in the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), except for:
To understand how users complete a task, user flows were crafted.

Validate
The user flow and stories were translated into sketches, laying out the main features of the app.

The app was tested with some quick guerrilla testing using the POP by Marvel app.

Results
None of the participants could understand the meaning of the term "your link" on the music page.
%80 of the participants faced confusion when trying to use the plus icon to add tasks and select a template.
%20 of the participants expressed irritation with the phrase "create a team".
Everyone was searching for a confirmation button on the timer page.

What I learnt
I've added several new tools to my skill set.
After the first interview with your participants, you could be amazed at the fresh new ideas that emerge in your mind.
Learning to see challenges as opportunities to learn is an important part of my professional growth journey.
If you end up making some questionable choices or even doubting the entire idea, feeling like giving up, taking a break, and restarting with a fresh mind always do wonders.

Include a family template and create a special section for kids, making it easy for parents to check their homework.
Add motivational notifications after completing sub-tasks/tasks.
Connect the app with phone numbers while ensuring that the numbers remain hidden from other members.
Add a notification system for member task completion as a new feature.
